Zanzibar as a kite spot

Few places on earth match the setting. White sand, turquoise water, and a shallow lagoon stretching for hundreds of metres make Zanzibar's southeast coast a kitesurfing destination unlike any other. The wind is almost always cross-shore and remarkably stable, rarely gusting more than 2–3 knots — a genuine luxury for kiters. Two seasons keep the wind blowing: the Kaskazi from December to March, and the stronger Kusi from June to September. The Kaskazi is gentler and ideal for beginners; the Kusi brings stronger, more consistent winds perfect for progression. Come for the kiting, stay for everything else.
